Happy Holidays, it’s almost Christmas!

Its almost time! 4 days until Christmas and I am ready for a great holiday. The whole family will all have new Ski Equipment so come monday, we will be on the slopes. I plan to hit the trails a lot this year, I nead to keep up with my son on the double diamonds. Last year I started on the “park” trails and hitting the rails, jumps and all the stunts, lots of wipeouts but lots of fun and I am ready for it again. Happy holidays to all!

Very hot in South Jersey this summer!

Like most of the country it has been a super hot summer. All I can say is “WOW”, nice to have a pool but some days it’s just to hot to even stay out swimming all day. I see lawns all over South Jersey that need water so please rain! I am glad we have AC but our bill sure is huge. The price you pay to stay cool.

Squirrel stopped in a tree in my backyard.

I took my dog Maverik outside to the backyard today and saw this Squirrel stopped about 30 feet up a tree right near our fence. Not sure what is in his mouth, I guess a nut. But I was happy to get the picture since he ran off right after I took it.

This guy can throw some smoke man! His dad went to high school for a few years in South Jersey and they now live in Arizona, when I saw this video, I was amazed, his stats are nice and he is a focused young man. I hope to see him in the Big Leagues someday!

These kinds of stories really scare me and get me very angry too! But I wanted to post this to make people aware of this. It is from an elementary school’s website and the more people are aware of it, the better chance there is of catching these scumbags! So please let your kids know and be extra cautious!

Van Sought In Attempted Child Abduction
Parents On Alert
MOORESTOWN, N.J. – Moorestown police are investigating the
attempted abduction of a 12-year-old girl. It happened at
approximately 3:50 p.m. Monday when the girl got off a school bus at
S. Shirley and Beacon Avenues. This is the 3rd report of an attempted
abduction involving a dirty white van within the last five-days. Police
are asking parents to warn their children to be extra careful if they are
approached by a stranger.
In Monday’s incident a girl says she was walking south towards
Westbrook Drive when a white panel-type work van with no
windows pulled alongside her.
The vehicle was occupied by two males. The driver was
described as hispanic and bald. The passenger had a
moustache with an athletic build, say police.
The passenger asked the girl to get in the car to help look for his son.
She refused, at which point the passenger ordered her to get in the
van as he reached and tried to grab her.
The van is described as dirty, “beat up” with a crack in the
windshield, missing the driver’s side mirror and possible ladder
racks with unknown New Jersey registration.
The 12-year-old ran home and police were notified by her mother.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Moorestown Police
Criminal Investigations Division at 856-914-3046.
Last week, a white work van with a similar description pulled alongside
a 14-year-old boy in Perkasie.
The driver tried to get the boy in his van, but that boy too was able to
get away.
Police also say there was a similar report in Sellersville last
Wednesday.

Tunes from the Crypt

(SALEM, NJ)—New Jersey Network has posted a new podcast featuring organist Joanne Owen discussing the Salem County Cultural & Heritage Commission’s upcoming concert, “Tunes from the Crypt,” Friday evening, October 23, 2009, 6 PM. The concert takes place in historic St. John’s Episcopal Church, 76 Market St., Salem, NJ, and is a free event.

“Having New Jersey Network feature Tunes from the Crypt is very exciting,” said Deputy Freeholder Director Beth Timberman. “It is wonderful to have Salem County’s cultural events recognized and publicized this way.”

NJN producer Eric Schultz visited Salem at the beginning of October to interview Owen at the console of the organ at St. John’s. The resulting program offers a taste of the “spooky music” that will be performed that evening, including Bach’s famous “Toccata and Fugue in D Minor” and Gounod’s “Funeral March for a Marionette.” The podcast is available for listening and downloading here.

“When I came down for the interview I was really struck by the evocative beauty of the church and the surrounding graveyard,” said Schultz. “Hearing the organ live reverberating around me in that gothic setting was so powerful – a totally different experience from listening to a recording.”

“Tunes from the Crypt” is the perfect prelude for Salem City’s Annual Walking Ghost Tour, which begins nearby at 7 pm. There is no admission charge for the concert. For information, visit the Events Calendar or call (856)-935-7510 ext. 8532.

Indoor campout on the pullout couch with my son.

My son is always asking me to have a “campout” with him on the weekends (and sometimes the weekday). This usually meens we setup camp in one of the spare bedrooms and stay up late and watch movies, eat snacks, read etc..
Well last night he decided he wanted to have the campout downstairs on the pull out bed that is in our couch, so we did and let me tell you, it was so much fun! We setup camp around 9pm and were in bed watching some movies and eating snacks until close to midnight. After pulling out the bed I realized how much I needed to vacuum under that area since we haven’t pulled out the bed in a few months. So after some cleaning and picking up old loose change we hit the bed and started our camping.
This was the longest he has slept in, we woke up a little after 9am and definatly are going to do this again, luckily it was the weekend so we could sleep in a bit. But what a fun time. It was a little to cold outside to camp in the tent and I was happy to be inside. In South Jersey our weather right now is nice but it definatly gets chilly overnight. Pumpkin time soon! I finally picked a theme for my site CostaRica4uonline.com and started it. Very basic setup right now but I wanted to at least get it up and looking ok. It used to be Haddonfield.tv (another project I need to get to)
CostaRica4uonline.com will have lots of information about visiting Costa Rica but more important, buying real estate and investing there.
About 10 years ago I bought a house there before the real estate boom and it turned out to be a great investment, you can see it at www.villasmymosa.com, since I was already involved with a few business’s there I wanted my own place and I was able to rent it out for a nice income when I was not there.
Sadly enough I sold it when a great offer came in but I learned a lot about the process of buying property as a foreigner that I decided to offer services to people interested in buying a house there. Its a beautiful country and one of the top places that Americans are retiring too.
