I know fall is a great time to see the leaves changing colors and there are so many nice places to go here in South Jersey to see them. But they do bring one thing I am not a big fan of, raking them! We are lucky here in New Jersey, you can just dump them on the street and they come around with trucks and just haul them away and launch them into outerspace! But I have spoken to people from other states and they don’t do that, they have to actually bag them. If I had to bag my leaves, I would fill at least 20+ large trashbags each weekend. So I use the old tarp method, take my gas blower (yard tools must be gas! More power!) and blow them all into a pile, then rake them onto the tarp and drag it out to the curb. Its actually nice to do some yardwork but man, our area has a lot of leaves! I can rake them one day, and the next day you can’t even tell. But once its done and the trucks come to pick them up, my son and I watch as the bulldozers push them and load them onto waiting dumptrucks. We live in Cherry Hill and thats how they do them, in Haddonfield they have a giant vacuum to pick them up but my son and I enjoy watching the big trucks! I will post some pictures when they come by, probably in a few more weeks.

My son is always asking me to have a “campout” with him on the weekends (and sometimes the weekday). This usually meens we setup camp in one of the spare bedrooms and stay up late and watch movies, eat snacks, read etc..
Well last night he decided he wanted to have the campout downstairs on the pull out bed that is in our couch, so we did and let me tell you, it was so much fun! We setup camp around 9pm and were in bed watching some movies and eating snacks until close to midnight. After pulling out the bed I realized how much I needed to vacuum under that area since we haven’t pulled out the bed in a few months. So after some cleaning and picking up old loose change we hit the bed and started our camping.
This was the longest he has slept in, we woke up a little after 9am and definatly are going to do this again, luckily it was the weekend so we could sleep in a bit. But what a fun time. It was a little to cold outside to camp in the tent and I was happy to be inside. In South Jersey our weather right now is nice but it definatly gets chilly overnight. Pumpkin time soon! Check out the clock for how many days are left until Halloween!

The hot spot this time for us is Virginia Beach, VA for a week! The outer banks NC, a few others spots, its great! Arrived on time the weather is great, hot but of course, we got a pool! So since today is the 1st day I wanted to say hey to everyone in south jersey, and to my bud B guy around cherry hill New jersey (of course, south jersey), hey man!
I’ll have some pics and video up in a day or 2 once we get settled, right now is burger and beer time after a long drive! Hope you all are doing well, the pool hear uses baquacil which is just like softswim so expect some pictures for the “pool” page that about south jersey is working on! Enjoy everyone!

I am really loving the weather we are having this summer! Today is another example of what a great day it is. Sunny, about 85 degress and not too humid. My pool is 86 degrees and last night, my son and I went “night swimming” until about 10pm, we had fun watching 2 bats flying all around above us. The only light on was the pool light so it was a real cool vibe and my son was really curious about bats, we had a lot of fun!

Swimming pools are so much fun, and night swimming is really cool! I like it when the water is a little warm and its a nice clear night out. My son and I try and go night swimming every weekend but depending on how tired we are, we don’t always make it, or at least I am tired! My son never runs out of energy, god bless him!

Kids Corner

My kids love going to different places and having fun. We try and go on a new adventure every weekend and that is one of the great things about South Jersey, this area is close to so many great places. The shore is only an hour away and Philadelphia is only 15 minutes away, we can see a Phillies game or spend the day at the beach.  Today it was raining, so we spent the day at the Franklin Institute and it was a great time.
